About

The Open Gate Story

People have complicated lives.  For the business leader, managing and leading people can, at times, be a frustrating and costly distraction. Leaders in small to medium size business often lack resources to hire a team as a large company would.  Employee Resources, Training, Organizational Development and Employee Assistance support seem out of reach.  Business to business providers tend to ignore the small to medium business client.

At Open Gate Consulting we saw this need and are dedicated to small business leaders and teams.  Through our extensive experience in human resources, behavioral health, organizational development, and operational leadership, we have a deep understanding of what makes people tick. This unique blend of experience creates a profound difference for our clients. We become a trusted guide to navigate the complexities of creating and sustaining a winning team and a partner who has your back.

Our Vision

People are at their best when valued and given the chance to contribute.   At every level of an organization, we want your team to have access to the skills, resources and feedback needed to succeed in their personal and professional goals.  Your team will enjoy greater confidence in handling life’s challenges and reaching their dreams.

Our Leader:

Nancy Maki

People deserve better.  This belief motivated Nancy to build Open Gate Consulting – a place where business leaders are heard. Nancy’s depth and range of experience brings a rare degree of competence, understanding, and nuance that clients will find refreshing. She honed her leadership skills as an Army officer– often in harsh environments.

As a financial services business owner, she developed clear business acumen and high service standards. As an employee assistance professional, her experience in both mental health and human resources assured solid consultation for her clients.  She served many diverse employers in the Pacific Northwest including some of the largest – Snohomish County, the Puyallup Tribe of Indians, Swedish Medical Center and Microsoft.

I personally have worked with Nancy Maki directly on many high level, confidential, and very sensitive projects.  I have found her to be an excellent partner, who gives sound, useful recommendations and direction and cannot sing her praises high enough.  She is bright, knowledgeable, thoughtful, and innovative.  I recommend that if you get the chance to partner or work with her, you will not be disappointed.  She deserves my highest regards.
